I’ve been working on a play at a local private school, The Wondrous Tales of Old Japan.
It’s been a great experience, working with teenagers to try to pass on some of what I learned from the master artist Shozo Sato. In a move of bald nepotism, I got Ben a spot in the cast, though the next youngest is 5 years older. He’s been amazing. Yesterday, one of the cast members was ill and I had to step in. Happily, the role I filled was the Prince, whose attendant is played by Ben, so we got to share the stage.
